A one-person lab for black and white film.
F.Lab is where I process film, make silver gelatin prints and teach darkroom workshops, all by hand.
Who I am
I'm Luke Kammies. I run F.Lab on my own, which means the person you book with is the person who develops your film, makes your print and runs the workshop.
I work in black and white only, using traditional darkroom methods. Film is developed in the tank, and prints are exposed under the enlarger and developed in trays. I don't process colour film or offer digital scanning.
I keep workshops to two people so you get proper hands-on time at every step and I can answer questions as they come up.
Made by hand
Film is developed and prints are made in the darkroom, one at a time.
Black and white only
Doing one thing means I can stock the right film and chemistry and know it well.
Two people per workshop
Small groups mean you do the work yourself, with me beside you.
Why the lab exists
Analogue photography should feel approachable, whether you have never loaded a reel or you have shot film for years. F.Lab is a place to learn, to bring negatives that deserve a proper print, and to be part of a small community of people who still enjoy making images by hand.
Every booking, print, workshop and roll of film helps keep this little analogue dream alive.
Come and make something.
